Strategize your moves with clever research, discovery, and showcasing as you gather resources and trade them shrewdly. But be careful—every decision counts, and your opponent’s turn could spark a new twist. With ever-changing gameplay and dynamic resource exchanges, no two games are ever the same. How to Play
Pyrotechnics is a quick and crunchy hand- and resource- management game played over an undefined number of turns, ending once one player has emptied their hand of their five starting cards. Each turn a player will perform an action from one card in their hand and an action from one card on the table.
On your turn, actions take place in the following order:
RESEARCH – Choose one card in your hand, return it to the market in the center of play, and perform the action indicated at the top (usually collecting or converting resources).
Then choose any other card in the market and:
DISCOVER – Perform the action indicated on the lower-left area of the card, and bring that card into your hand, or
SHOWCASE – Return the resources indicated on the lower-right area of the card, and set the card aside, out of play. You’ve just scored a card!
Play then passes to the next player.
When a player scores a card, no cards will be added to their hand that turn. As a result, players’ hand size will dwindle as they score cards. At the end of a turn, if a player has no cards in their hand, they win!
