Rune Rite Goes Live on Kickstarter with Halloween Twist on the Flip-and-Write: Craft Your Own Polyominoes
Evenglow Designer Hopes to Charm Players With a Fast and Puzzly First Crowdfunding Bid
Tampa, Fla. — Oct. 13, 2026 — Designer Jason Katzwinkel (Evenglow, The Op Games) launched Rune Rite today as part of the Witchstarter creator spotlight on Kickstarter. Fans of flip-and-writes looking for a new twist on the genre can back it through Oct. 31, 2026.
In Rune Rite witches gather at an Altar, competing to harness the power of Runes, brew Potions, and draw the Glyphs that prove their prowess. Drafting, rotating, and forging Glyphs from newly placed Rune cards creates a dynamic spatial puzzle in the Altar’s evolving 3×3 grid.
“A witch’s destiny has no preordained shape,” said Katzwinkel. “I aimed here for a tight simultaneous-play experience that lets players build their own polyominoes and uncork a pretty dizzying array of possibilities right off the bat.”
