The Overview

Winter is coming to the park, and the Eastern Gray Squirrels have only one chance to prepare. In Sneaky Squirrels, players scramble through the fall to bury food, forage for supplies, and sometimes steal from one another in a scramble to survive the season ahead.

The game unfolds over two phases. During fall, players move around a card-based park, find food, hide it in new places, and forage from the surrounding woods while a roaming fox threatens to block off parts of the board. Players may talk freely, bluff, bargain and threaten while trying to keep track of what food is where. When winter arrives, players collect and reveal food cards and the impetus shifts from hiding food to eating it. Players dig up their stores and try to reach enough nutrition to survive before the final round ends.

Sneaky Squirrels is a tense, clever survival game of memory, timing, and a little bit of mischief. Remember where you buried your nuts, or you may be the squirrel that does not make it through the winter.
